Great idea. I would definitely bring my truck. I am not so sure you would have the room for a swap meet and car show. Swap meets kinda bring down the quality of a first class car show. How about vendor spaces for car related products? Can you get me…

Hi Nick,
I was over at a friend's house today and I couldn't believe what I saw - a Twin Pines blue plastic delivery container. I have it for you so hope we can meet up sometime. Trust your party went well today and that you're feeling better.

Hi Nick,
I sent an e-mail yesterday but apparently it didn't go through. Sorry to hear about your ear infection. I've been praying for you. Trust your party goes well today.

Hi Nick,
It is this Sunday, 1:00-5:00 pm. It is located at 13315 15 Mile, Sterling Heights 48312, Brookside Village (northwest corner of 15 Mile and Schoenherr.) I have a flyer I could e-mail you if you could share your e-mail address. Anyone else with classic vehicles or bikes are invited. Thanks for your consideration. Liz

Hi Nick, I received an e-mail regarding the
Twin Pines truck just a couple days ago. It brings back memories of when I was a child and we had a Twin Pines milkman deliver to our home. On occassion in the winter, he would substitute chocolate milk instead of white milk. What a treat and a blessing! It would form ice crystals and it was our chocolate ice cream.

I am part of the committee formulating the Brookside Village Community Fun Day this Sunday, 8-23, from 1-5 pm. There will be a car and bike show, inflatables, music, complimentary food and beverages, and give aways. There will be 2 tickets given away to the Lions vs. Colt pre-season game for the best vehicle and 2 tickets for the best motorcyle/bike. I would like to extend an invitation to you to bring the Twin Pines truck or any other classic cars/motorcycles that could be put together on such a short notice. I don't know if that would fit into your schedule. If so, would you please call me @586-322-7722. Kind regards, Liz

Somehow the name rings a bell, but I don't recall knowing Becky.

Referring back to your previous note, most likely my folks might have some old Twin Pines pictures around the house. I know there's at least one of me in diapers at my grandparents' house standing next to Uncle Ray's truck. I will ask my mom and dad about them and see if I can get them scanned and sent to you. Have a great time at the cruise this weekend! When I talk to my mom tomorrow, I'll see if they're going. I know they usually attend the Gratiot cruise.

Nick,

I read about your truck via a google search for Divco trucks. My dad and his three brothers were Twin Pines milkmen, all out of the East plant, so they no doubt knew your dad too. Al, my dad, was route 436; his brothers were Ray (342), Tom (344), and Joe (346). What a gorgeous job you and Gary did on that old truck! Just looking at it brought back a lot of great memories of fun times, working the route with Dad, hanging out at the Fireside Lounge on Outer Drive, and all those great Twin Pines picnics.

I hope one day to find my own Divco to restore as you guys have done. As my mechanical skills are nowhere near yours, I'll have to find a driveable vehicle suitable for me to do body and paint work on. Living in Texas as I do now, I'm sure there's one sitting in a farmer's field somewhere that could be mine.

Congrats on all the accolades you and your brother have received for the truck. It's a fine tribute to your father, and a wonderful way of preserving the memory of a great business and a great company. Hope you don't mind me picking your brain once in a while. Enjoy the cruise this weekend!

Congratulations on your FRONT PAGE story on the Oakland Press this Father's Day. I am sure this has to be one of the highlights of your life after re-building an awsome tribute to your dad. I am sure he would be proud.

Nick - the DIVCO truck looked great in our display! Love the custom Detroit Muscle decal on the window

He probably started a couple years after that. I was still in Centerline in 1962. I like the models with the truck. You need to get them uniforms with bowties. lol
